Four Cheese Broccoli Quiche

Contributing Chefs: Trinity Hakins, Mila Hakins, and Virlonna Chavis

Quiche is the perfect versatile dish that can be served for breakfast, as a light lunch, with a side tossed garden salad, for dinner or as an appetizer. There are several ingredients that can be added, and in observance of Lent, and meatless Friday's, our Culinary Arts students developed this recipe that is simple to make and very delicious

Ingredients:

1 crust (9 inch)

2 tablespoons of butter

4 eggs, well beaten

½ cup per cheese

2 cups of broccoli

1.5 cups of milk

1 teaspoon salt

1.5 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon melted butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large saute pan on medium low heat.

Add chopped broccoli and saute for 3- 4 minutes. Remove from heat.

Add sauteed broccoli into the crust and sprinkle evenly with the four cheeses.

Combine four eggs and mix together with the milk, salt and pepper, and melted butter

Pour egg mixture over broccoli and cheese.

Place on the middle rack of preheated, on a parchment lined cookie tray and bake for 30 to 50 minutes.

Remove once quiche is golden brown on top and egg and cheese mixture is firm in the center.

Let cool for 5 - 10 minutes before serving.
