Soup Making 101


With winter here, most of us often turn to a soothing bowl of soup. In addition to being a healthy, hearty and comforting meal, learning how to make soup can also provide a great deal of science, technology, engineering, art and math!


This week our Culinary Arts students learned the basics of soup making. By layering flavors, and combining water, onions, and a few other ingredients, they were able to create a rich flavorful stock, which was then used in developing a full body, flavorful and hearty soup.
