Hand-Rolled Roses

Have you ever wondered how sugar artists create gorgeous realistic flowers when decorating cakes or cupcakes?

Today, our eighth grade Culinary Arts students learned and mastered the art of hand-rolling fondant roses which resulted in very realistic looking flowers.

Using fondant to create flowers is an excellent way for a beginner to start making sugar flowers. which can be made either by using custom made cutters to cut out two-dimensional flower shapes, or in this case, hand-rolling each flower which will eventually be placed directly on a cake.

Whichever technique you choose, working with fondant is a quick and easy way to decorate your cakes.
